I'm sad to say that, due to sickness among the leaders and some of the children, Messy Church will be cancelled for Nov 3.
Look for us in the Santa Claus Parade, and on December 1 @ 4pm.

Taking Direction from our bishop

This year, the Bishop's charge to synod–a traditional direction setting statement from Bishop to synod–was accompanied by the publication of a Diocesan Plan, a way forward for all of us, a way to turn to grace, accept our dependance on God alone, and embrace that the world around us really needs what we have–the world needs God, and the world needs prayer. There is so much to worry about, and so much to think about, it's time to reconsider our identity in Christ as the great gift of God to us, and the best of invitations to a world desperately in need of it.
You can read both documents (and even smaller summary of the Diocesan plan) using the links below, or you can download the PDFs here, too.

An old anglican adage (in Latin) reads: "Lex orandi, lex credendi." It means, roughly, that we pray what we believe. That our faith is shaped by our prayers. That's what we do every Sunday morning. We pray, we read our scriptures., we pray for the world, the sick, our leaders, and ourselves. We ask God to be with us in our lives and through our sacraments. We shape our prayers to shape our faith, and the whole liturgy is meant to immerse us in the world of faith.
But what does it all mean? If it is going to shape us, we should probably understand it, right?
Well, you might be interested to learn how our prayerful worship shapes us. You may want to join us on a Sunday morning for our communion. Or you may simply want to explore what you've been doing your whole life.
In either case, you're welcome to join us on Wednesdays (either 9:00 am or 6:30 pm) in our chapel, where we will pray together and take time to explore and discuss what we are doing, what it means, and what it means to us.
I'd love to see you there.
