ST. GEORGE'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, GODERICH

ministries of loving service

The best kind of love is the kind given without being seen. We at St. George's participate in larger scale community initiatives (like "Fishes and Loaves", ,the "Huron County Christmas Bureau", and "Hats and Mats").
Our congregation has an active prayer shawl ministry which give blessed shawls to people experiencing illness, grief or personal hardship.  Each one is prayed over by the congregation, and was created by someone in the community for this purpose.
Parishoners receive visits, and phone calls whether in hospital, long term care, or at home.  Communion is offered to those who wish to receive it.
Each Sunday, we pray as part of the morning service for those on our prayer list.  We also have a prayer chapel where prayer cards can be left and candles lit.

We aspire to be the kind of people that meet need with love, action,  and community. The best way to experience this, to offer your own gifts of service or, to receive the gift of love and inclusion and to find out what loving service is all about, is to be a part of it together.
